"We participated in the Race for the Place. A fund raiser for The Gathering Place, a facility for people touched by cancer in Clrveland, Ohio. We walked and ran in the 5K in honor of Michael Shagrin our husband, father, grandfather & friend, who is a savior of lung cancer. This is the first year to do this event as a team. "This event took place in Waukesha, Wisconsin on a chilly Saturday morning. We were Running for Love. This picture shows how a team of strangers going on a Mission's Trip to Kenya can turn into a life changing family. The 5K was to help raise money for water packs for our family in Africa. "The tee-shirts we ordered from Custom Ink were for a 5k fundraising event we held in Chicago Illinois. The proceeds from Fun Run will go directly to Urban Eco to help support our goal of sending urban students to Kenya during the summer of 2014. Once in Africa the students will volunteer at a local school and undergo a journey to learn about the Maasai culture and ecology of Kenya. Their journey will consist of studying conservation efforts that promote economic sustainability for the Maasai culture and communities surrounding the Maasai Mara. This experience will develop the students and teachers as scientists and global citizens. We loved working with Custom Ink! They had wonderful customer service and were really helpful when we needed to add to our order."
