Sophia's Soldiers at the 2014 Pittsburgh Pirates Run/Walk for Epilepsy by Sophia's Soldiers - 10 days ago

Sophia's Soldiers At The 2014 Pittsburgh Pirates Run/Walk For Epilepsy T-Shirt Photo

"These are "Sophia's Soldiers", a team of family and friends that was formed to support our six year old daughter, Sophia Pozek, who was diagnosed with Epilepsy in December of 2013. Sophia is to the right of the multi-colored flower wearing the purple bandana. Sophia was having up to 30 seizures a day and while the doctors were trying to find the right medication to control her seizures she spent almost 2 months in the hospital. She's doing great though and just passed 5 months of being seizure free! The photo was taken at the 2014 Pittsburgh Pirates Run/Walk for Epilepsy which took place on Saturday, July 19. In this, our first year of participation, our team raised almost $2,000 to help those affected by Epilepsy and seizure disorders. A HUGE thank you to CustomInk for the amazing shirts. You were great to work with and really made the process smooth and easy!"

We did green with the shamrock because his dream was to travel to Ireland someday. We like to think he got his trip to the Emerald Isle before heading up to heaven. "

Feel the Force at Twin Cities Heart Walk by Jamie - about 1 month ago

Feel The Force At Twin Cities Heart Walk T-Shirt Photo

"We used our CustomInk t-shirts to show that our team was honoring the memory of our relative George, who recently passed due to a congenital heart defect. He was a Star Wars fan, and we were able to incorporate that into our team shirts. We walked the Twin Cities Heart Walk on May 31st to raise money and awareness for the American Heart association. We hope that we can help make a difference in the lives of other children that are going through similar situations. Feel the force!"

Avenging Heart Disease at the AHA Heart Walk by Liz - about 1 month ago

Avenging Heart Disease At The Aha Heart Walk T-Shirt Photo

"This is the 2nd year CustomInk has made team shirts for our heart walk/5k team, My Heart Is A Big Deal. The help and customer service is beyond amazing! That's why we're back. My name is Liz. I'm the one in the red hat and red cape. At the heart walk survivors wear red hats and survivors of congenital heart defects wear red Heart Hero capes. I had open heart surgery in 2010 just 3 months after I was diagnosed with a failing heart that I'd been born with that was causing my heart to enlarge. I had no idea I had been living with heart disease my entire life until I was too weak and too short of breath to climb the stairs in my home. I was very close to death after the surgery and my husband was trying to find the words to tell our 4 children he wasn't bringing me home. It was a tough battle, but I fought and I survived with the care, love, and support of many. I have brought a team to heart walk for 4 years and I was chosen a National Spokeswoman for American Heart Association Go Red For Women in 2011. I've been an active volunteer since. I raise awareness that heart disease is the #1 killer of women, it does not discriminate and you cannot see it when you look in the mirror. Our shirts were very popular at this year's heart walk, as were last year's. The attention our shirts attract has given us countless opportunities to share my families journey, give others hope and encouragement, and stress the importance of taking care of your heart and recognizing the symptoms of heart disease. This year my little team raised $3800. Next year we hope to double that. Thank you, CustomInk! "
