About this campaign

East Hampton Baseball appreciates all of your interest in supporting Greyson Gload and all those who continue to battle Brain tumors.

In 2016 East Hampton alumni And former Baseball player Ross Gload’s son Greyson was diagnosed with a cue ball sized brain tumor. 4 years ago, 63208054-3C25-4D9A-8728-AEE12E18990Cpng221C4B92-28BD-4E42-9F4C-A0F6908529F9jpegD116E814-21C9-4C40-B001-04A1195EC76EpngBC84CF5B-3554-4507-9F01-0BFE923200D2jpeg7 year old Greyson was living a normal life in South Carolina with his mother Betsy, father Ross and younger sister Belle. He loved school, his close friends and sports, especially baseball. He was a natural athlete. Out of no where Grey had a hard time hitting the ball...maybe he needed glasses. Within a few days Greyson was diagnosed with an incredibly rare benign brain tumor that was crushing his optic nerve. A few weeks later with the love of his family near and far and his amazing friends, along side his best friend they shaved their hair and he went in for his first 9 hour brain surgery to remove the tumor, which would essentially “cure” him. The surgery was a success at the time but a small portion of the tumor had to be left behind. Greyson would continue to live his best life with continued monitoring of his tumor. 2 years later a routine check up found the tumor had regrown aggressively and he would need a second surgery. We all held out hope that this would be it for Grey. Unfortunately he came out of the second surgery with sever left side weakness that left him unable to walk, write or take care of himself. It also left the majority of the tumor. Greyson’s doctors and family agreed that a 16 month chemo treatment to keep his tumor “sleep” was the best option for now.
Greyson is a Warrior! He battled back. He put in the work and he is walking, running, swimming, playing. Even completed a triathlon. His latest MRI showed no growth. But he is, like so many others still in this fight. He continues to have regular check ups to monitor his tumor. He still dreams of playing ball like his dad. We would love to show Greyson much love from East Hampton and raise money for the National Brain Tumor society. Thanks so much to East Hampton High School and the East Hampton Baseball team for putting together this wonderful community event
