About this campaign

Purchase a Cesarean Awareness Month T-Shirt and proudly tell your family, friends, and clients that you're a safe person to talk with about their childbirth experience. The International Cesarean Awareness Network founded Cesarean Awareness Month to spread awareness about the impacts C-Sections have on birthing people. There are 18.5 million C-Sections every year, and ICAN exists to support, educate, and advocate for these birthing people. This year, we acknowledge the healing power of storytelling in recovering from birth trauma, obstetric abuse, and surgical birth.

- Help others by sharing your story here.
- Learn how to tell and listen to BIRTH STORIES in a whole new way with ICAN's Webinar featuring Pam England.
- Join our Mission by becoming a Member! Discounted prices during April!

The International Cesarean Awareness Network works tirelessly to educate birthing people and advocate for their rights. ICAN is the world's largest support system for people who have given birth by Cesarean, a trusted resource for people who want to avoid a Cesarean, and our volunteers fiercely work to ensure all people have the option to VBAC.

As a 100% volunteer run organization, we rely upon grassroots efforts to fund our efforts to reduce the Cesarean rate and improve conditions for birthing people. ICAN receives no foundational, government, or corporate monies to carry-out our work in over 120 local communities across the globe.

This organization helped me understand I was far from alone with my cesarean experience. It has also shown me how to be empowered with knowledge necessary to stand up for myself and my children, in many aspects above and beyond birthing decisions.

Had an unnecessary cesarean 2019 and a healing HBAC in 2022. I love to support and advocate for mamas who are also impacted by unnecessary cesareans.

ICAN is dear to my heart. The support group helped me mourn my vaginal birth and heal from my cesarean birth.

I'm a 3 time vbac mom and a doula.

ICAN was a huge help to me after my very unexpected and traumatic cesarean. I served on the board of my local chapter and know how valuable birth stories are. Later, I went on to HBAC!

An amazing cause and support for those who are seeking a vaginal birth after a cesarean and for those finding support after an unexpected cesarean birth. I've been so pleased with how ICAN has supported my clients over the years. Cheers!
