International Save the Vaquita Day is a day dedicing tosharing this beautiful little animal's plight to the world, and you can be a part of this event! It is not only bad fishing methods it is also due to the Chinese buying the bladders for soup, changing peoples culture is harder than changing working methods. The only way to do this is to get people to buy less Made in China products!
Fisherman in the Vaquita's waters are being compensated (paid) to stop fishing by the Mexican government. Poaching these waters continues for Totoaba fish, which are killed only for their bladders, believed by the Chinese to promote beauty & youth.
To raise awareness for the decline of the Vaquita species population.
I want to help animals and raise awareness.
With so few vaquitas left, it is imperative that we all join in the fight to preserve these beautiful creatures.
