About this campaign

Freeze Dont Shoot will march on April 25th, 2015 in efforts to bring awareness to Law Enforcement Officers who encounter family dogs and use lethal force by shooting and seriously injuring or killing them. This is an increasing incident and the devastation is felt throughout the country. FDS wants to bring awarenessnd askthat officercanine enounter taining is mandated in all law enforcement agencies. That officers are required to wear and turn on body cams when responding to calls. We also want officer accountability in the form of charges of Animal Cruelty filed, prosecuted, and restitutuion paid to the victim families funded by the shooting officer instead of it being a burden upon the tax payer. We want lethal force to be the last resort in an encounter situation. We also expect that a thorough investigation from an outside agency be conducted without prejudice. When a shooting occurs we ask that the officer beut on npaid ainistrtive leae until he invesigation s completednd action is determined If offer is ound negigent an the shting i other ten justiied, weant th officer in question to go through a mental health evaluation to determine the risk they may impose on the public if they return to duty.
