About this campaign

Help support Sonny Kim Sensei's family by purchasing a t-shirt. All funds raised will go directly to the Kim family.

Japanese Karate Do mourns the loss of a great man: a great husband, a great father, a great police officer, and a great sensei!

On the morning of June 19, 2015 Cincinnati Police Department Officer Sonny Kim responded to a call in the Madisonville neighborhood, not far from his home, for a man erratically waving a gun in the street. After coming into contact with the armed individual, Officer Kim, 49 years old and a respected 27 year veteran was shot and killed.

In addition to his role as a Cincinnati Police Officer, Sonny Kim was the sensei at Japanese Karate Do dojo. Sonny Kim leaves behind a wife and three children. In order to help support his family, the dojo is selling t-shirts. All funds raised will go directly to Sonny Kim Sensei's family.

Training with Sonny Kim was always humbling and inspirational. He lead by example in all aspects of his life. His tragic passing reminds me to savor each day and strive to be the man Sensei Kim was.

The tragic loss of Officer Kim has touched many at UCMC- especially my sweet friend and co- worker Jenna, who trained karate with Officer Kim.
