About this campaign
When the President of the United States signed the Wilderness Act of 1964 he wasn't banning bicycles, wheelbarrows, and strollers.

I want the same access to wilderness as hikers.
Mountain bikes have been proven to be a low impact human powered option for back country travel and therefore belong in wilderness.
I believe that all human powered transportation be allowed back in the wilderness. If mechanical contrivances are not allowed then hikers should not be allowed GPS, phones or other such modern aids either..
I support STC because, prior to the Mech/Motor confusion 35 years ago, I was able to lightly travel to some fantastic backcountry areas. 35 years of losing access! Having travel decisions re-placed in local Land Manager hands might return access.
The chance to help restore the original intent of the wilderness act, and in doing so bring sanity back to wilderness management policies is a cause worth fighting for no matter where you live.
I believe in STC's mission and am outraged by IMBA. So you get my money!
