100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser go to support those impacted by dysphagia. We know that many in our community with dysphagia are immunocompromised and may have baseline respiratory complications, placing them in the high-risk category during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

The CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.

My Mother was never officially diagnosed but often times was unable to swallow food much like her Father. I occasionally confront this when eating warm food and drinking cold liquids. I may have a hereditary version that is managed with warm fluids
