100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser go to support those impacted by dysphagia. We know that many in our community with dysphagia are immunocompromised and may have baseline respiratory complications, placing them in the high-risk category during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

The CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.

I also work in an acute care hospital. We wear N-95 masks there. Our patients and those out in public are vulnerable to this terrible virus. Wear masks every time when you leave your home.

My husband had Dysphagia. Before his passing, he could swallow very little. Your help in setting up a travel to go kit in case of hurricane evacuation was so valuable in helping us be prepared & have less worry! Thank you!

I am a medical SLP and now have to wear a face covering when walking into my hospital (and when out in public) - this will be great! :) Thanks NFOSD!
