About this campaign
"No way. Reinette Poisson? Later Madame Etoiles? Later still mistress of Louis XV, uncrowned Queen of France? Actress, artist, musician, dancer, courtesan, fantastic gardener!"
Whovian Running Club is thrilled to announce the third event of the 2020 season:
Versailles 5k!
You don't have to have an invitation to the Yew Tree Ball to celebrate one of the most beloved and memorable stories in Whovian history, because we've commemorated the Doctor's adventure aboard the SS Madame de Pompadour and a most incredible historical meeting!
Your registration includes this beautiful 3" spinner medal featuring a reversible view of the infamous fireplace...complete with our two heroes!
As with every WRC medal, all registrants also receive the beautiful custom sublimated ribbon, and the always-popular personalized digital bib!

"I have seen the world inside your head and know that all things are possible."
Reinette was one of many humans pursued and taken by the Clockwork Droids for their own purposes. In our world, the terrible reality of human trafficking is both widespread and incredibly serious. Our charity partner for the Versailles 5k is Journey Out!
Journey Out is committed to meeting the ongoing challenges facing victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Through comprehensive service provision with trained, dedicated staff, many of whom are survivors themselves, they empower clients to leave a life of abuse and violence, overcome their fears, and achieve their goals.
Our support of Journey Out will fund the direct-impact, physical resources they use to carry out this critical mission and reach some of what the United Nations refers to as "the hidden figure of crime" -- the estimated 20 to 40 million people that are victims of human trafficking worldwide today.
"Always take a banana to a party, Rose."
It's a time lord party, so leave your linear understanding of chronometric progression at the door, and throw on one of these daiquiri-dapper event shirts!
Available in multiple fabrics and styles from tees, to tanks, to hoodies, proceeds will also support Journey Out!
"I'm the Doctor, and I just snogged Madame de Pompadour. Ha, ha!"
Remember that this is a 'virtual' active event, so you can complete your five kilometer distance however, wherever and whenever you want! How? You can walk, run, skip, dance, or saunter. Where? You can do it around your neighborhood, at the gym, on the treadmill, or on your favorite trail. When? You can do it on a Monday night, a Thursday morning, or a Saturday afternoon. It's all up to you!
For some extra fun, the optional 'run day' for the event is May 6: the date of "The Girl in the Fireplace" original broadcast! If you want to join thousands of others around the world completing some or all of the distance on that day, you'll be in some wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey company!
