25 Years of Saving White Abalone! White Abalone have been federally protected by the Endangered Species Act since June 28, 2001.
Over the past 15 years, the White Abalone Captive Breeding Program has created tens of thousands of critically endangered white abalone, including over 26,000 that have been released into the ocean. For scale, an estimated ~2000 white abalone were surviving in the wild before reintroduction began. We have been instrumental in bringing this species back from the brink, and we could not have done it without the generous support of our community. The long-term funding for this model program for ocean restoration remains uncertain. We need your help, now more than ever, to continue saving endangered white abalone. Funds generated through this campaign are critical for ensuring the continued success of the White Abalone Captive Breeding Program during this time of upheaval.
