About this campaign
“Tugende” (2-Jen-Day) means “Let’s go” in the Kinyarwanda language. The Rwanda School Project’s 2024 fundraiser is focused on nutrition and health at our secondary school. Nutrition and health are key to student success, and the kitchen staff prepare more than 127,000 meals a year to feed our students. During the pandemic, we reached out to vulnerable students, teachers, and local residents with food aid. Since then, food prices for staples like potatoes, beans, milk and green vegetables are continuing to rise dramatically. Food is our largest budget item after staff salaries.
The Rwanda School Project supports high-quality education at Rwamagana Leaders’ School in Rwamagana, Rwanda. We transform vulnerable youth into future leaders who champion social change for Rwanda and the wider world. Our graduates have started nonprofits, earned scholarships in Rwandan and international universities, become managers in Rwandan enterprises and more. https://rwandaschoolproject.org/
