Exploring the World of Science!

"The Guilford HS Science Olympiad Team is an academic team that competes against other teams across the nation in a rigorous competition that consists of twenty-three events, the topics of which cycle yearly, covering a variety of scientific topics. The wide variety of disciplines available for students to explore encourages students interested in any aspect of STEM to participate. This year marks our 5th year of inspiring students to dig deeper in the sciences and explore the world of science, technology, and engineering, achieving a rank of 8th in Connecticut. Our main goal --aside from moving on to the National Tournament-- is to create an atmosphere where all students have the opportunity to apply, and build on, knowledge acquired from basic high school classes to conquer more complex problems. In our image, you can see our team minus a few members (total: 25 members, 2 coaches) showing off our merch after the CT States competition. We added a twist to this picture by adding in some of our "build event" devices; see if you can spot them all: a bridge (which was crushed during the test), a plane (Wright Brothers), a rocket launcher, and a ramp for an event called "Gravity Vehicle" (unfortunately the car did not make it in the picture). Team merchandise is something that really boosts our team spirit and unites us as a team, enabling us to work harder and represent our school to our maximum potential. It has been very hard for us to get sponsors for our team, as we need funds to function, and Custom Ink made it so easy with the easy purchasing & quality of better priced items than all other custom merchandise sites...
