FURIA Power

"F.U.R.I.A., (Fuerza Unida en Resistencia de Inmigrantes en Acción) (United Force in Resistance of Immigrants in Action was formed in Jan, 2017 by a group of Guatemalan and Mexican Immigrant women and it is a grassroots organization for immigrants rights and dignity. In Pittsburgh, the Latin American immigrant community is less than 2% and immigrants do not have a voice or representation. We were sick and tired of others fighting our fight, talking for us, oppressing our voice when they claimed representing us, of non immigrants representing us. So in January, 6 women got together and formed FURIA. FURIA is an exclusive organization for Spanish speaking immigrant women. It is an inclusive group of others who do not conform with the binary gender norm as well. In this picture, we marched for the first time on May 1st which has become the day for immigrants rights. This was the day we came out as an organization, we were the main organizers of this march, which was the first time it has ever happened in Pittsburgh, a march lead, organized by immigrant women. And even though we had a really strong storm, we still marched with our little furiosos as you can see in the picture. We demanded the mayor of Pittsburgh to declare it a Sanctuary City. We LOVED our shirts. The service was amazing, the quality of the shirt was awesome, the color, the art, the shipping, everything with CustomInk was A+. You made us look amazing on our first day in the air as an organization.
