Team-One World One Cure

"About Relay For Life Teams of people camp out at a local high schooland take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are 24 hours in length; representing the reality that cancer never sleeps. By participating, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives we've lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight cancer in your community. This picture shows but a handfull of the people that it takes to put on this event, and just a few of the team OWOC. To get the whole team in one place at the same time is impossible as they are all busy working hard for the cause n the field. This was the 11th anniversary of Pacifica, CA Relay For Life. An event to raise money and awareness for the cure for cancer. We also remember those who fought and lost the battle as well as those who have won. Our survivors and their caregivers are also celebrated with their own lap and special awards of over 1,000 hand folded origami paper cranes on a strand honor a few of those special people each year. Luminarias(decorated white paper bags with candles inside) line the track each one representing the memory of a loved one. If you have never attended one of these events, you should!
