"Team Peyton rocked it at the 2015 JDRF One Walk on June 6 at King's Island in Mason, Ohio (and still taking donations through June 30). We are a family team walking for my daughter, Peyton. She is ten years old and has been living with type one diabetes for 2 1/2 years. In her words, "JDRF is working very hard to make life with T1D easier for all of us. Your donation will help JDRF give kids like me hope that one day we will be free of needle sticks and finger pricks."
T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin – a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure – yet. Your support of JDRF can help change that. JDRF is the one organization with the plan, influence, and ability to lessen the burden of this disease until it no longer exists.
