"This picture was taken 24 April 2016. This was at the March of Dimes walk for babies in Houston, TX. The kids in the photo were all born early starting with Sarah in the number one jersey. She was born at 26 1/2 weeks and weighed only 1 lb. 10 oz. Sarah had to stay in the NICU for 73 days before she was allowed to come home. Alissa, number two, was born at 34 weeks and weighed only 4 lb. 14 oz. Ava, number three, was born at 37 weeks and weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. If it wasn't for the research of the March of Dimes, we wouldn't have known the depth and breath of the complications with of my wife's pregnancies, and the machinery and medicine to keep our babies alive wouldn't have existed – and neither my kids nor my niece nor my wife would be here today. We are so blessed that Sarah, Alissa, Ava, will have long, healthy lives with no apparent complications as a result of their prematurity's. Therefore our lifetime goal with the March of Dimes walk for babies is to eventually raise $750,000. This was Sarah's hospital bill when she finished her NICU stay. This year marked our eighth year walking and to date we have raised just over $10,000."
