Working horses should be allowed to work ! They are well cared for and part of NY history and charm . Shame on the mayor !!!!
As a horse owner myself, I support well-cared for horses with jobs in ANY facet of the horse industry. If the Animal Rights folks REALLY want to help, they should focus their energies on rescue & adoption (my boy is an adopted ex racer)!
The NY carriage horses are among the best cared for horses that I have seen in over 30 years of riding and working with them.
The horse carriages are part of the fabric of Central Park. Beautiful in the park and magical for children and adults. Making certain the horses are well cared for can be managed.

The campaign to replace horses with lime green jalopies is ridiculous.
