next they come for my dog,cat perhaps my child because THEY know what is best for them.
The Carriage Horses with their human partners have the right to pursue the freedom of working in the noble and traditional career that has been around for so many decades.
The fact that the so-called "Mayor" of NYC - by the way that population INCLUDES the carriage drivers - won't even meet with them or go to the stables shows he is totally ignorant and rude and should not be mayor. Is he that afraid of the truth? Does he not believe in justice? Who is paying him to take this stand?! All questions that need to be legally addressed and I can't believe someone so ignorant ever became mayor of one of the greatest cities on earth. He can't hide from this and he's not going to look good! ;) And obviously, anyone lucky enough to be around a horse, especially in a city, is blessed with one of God's best creations!
As a horse lover and a history lover I am disturbed that these beautiful, intelligent animals would not be allowed to continue a tradition that makes New York City special. To let politics play with people's' livelihoods is evil.
Carriage on!!! ? Glad to help from here in Michigan.
this ban has absolutely nothing to do with equine welfare. the NYC carriage horses are well taken care of and beloved by their owners, drivers, customers and the people of NYC. there is no reason whatsoever to ban them.
