"On September 25th, 2010 Team Mad Fish jumped into San Francisco Bay as part of 1.5 mile swim to raise money for cancer research and treatment. Over 300 swimmers swam beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, circled around one of the bridge's pylons and head on into Crissy Field Beach.
We were thrilled to be able to combine our passion for the sport of swimming with our desire to give something back to our community, and we are proud to say that the money Team Mad Fish raised will go to such a worthy cause: cutting edge cancer research, treatment and patient care at UCSF Children's Hospital Cancer Survivorship Program and Children's Hospital Oakland.
Swim Across America, Inc., [SAA] is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming- related events. With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide and past and current Olympians, SAA is helping find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service.
