"Downtown Dallas has its share of characters but one stood out among the rest -- Joanie.
From her bright red hair to her loud cackle, you could almost always find her saddled up to the bar at City Tavern, drinking red wine. When Joanie passed away, the community was hit hard but banded together to do some good in her honor.
And thus the WAKE UP! Joanie's Birthday Bridge-Brunch was born -- organized to raise money for the Bridge, a local homeless shelter, an idea Joanie was a strong advocate of.
Last year, we raised over $10,000 in one afternoon.
THIS year we raised even MORE (OVER $12,000!) with the help of these koozies. Custom Ink couldn't have been better to work with -- turning out a great looking product and helpful every step of the way.
Ask anyone in Downtown Dallas about Joanie. They'll have a funny story or memory -- or they might just point you to the City Tavern where her wine glass is now glued to the bar -- it doesn't matter -- she lives on."
