"This was taken at the end of my first 5K on April 12, 2014. I was diagnosed with Brain Cancer last November (2013), had surgery in December and was cleared to exercise on March 10, 2014. My beloved hockey is the one thing I was told I couldn't do, so my friend Debbie designed these shirts. The 5K benefited UCLA's oncology research department (which is where I'm receiving treatment). I only had 1 month to train (and I'd been inactive for 4 months), but I pushed through an 8 week 5K trainer in 4 weeks. I raised over $12,000 for brain cancer research."
