"We had made tshirts for my sons heart walk. Our son Brandon (18 months) was born with rare heart defect called HLHS. He under went two open heart surgeries before the age of 1. Right after his first birthday and just about a week after his little brother Christopher (6 months) was born, he went into heart failure. He was basically put on life support until a heart became available. 3 months later we got the call and a miracle happened, a heart became available. So Brandon went into surgery hours after we got the call. We have been home for about two months now and Brandon is doing amazing. We did this walk this year to bring awareness of CHD's and to give thanks to all donors. Without donors my son probably wouldn't be here today. We also did the walk for friends of ours who lost there 3 year old baby girl who also had HLHS, and for another family friend who lost there 21 year old son.
The heart walk took place on Long Island,NY at Sunken Meadow park/beach.
