"I was very fortunate to move from Pennsylvania to California and be hired as the first Head Coach in 30 years in Lawndale, CA. Wrestling is a sport not truly understood by many, but those who do know it, know it's a lifestyle as much as it is a sport. My athletes pictured here were not only the first to step up and try the sport, but have decided to accept it into their lives, spending the whole summer training for success. Our team is brand new but has managed to beat 3 teams right out of the gate while qualifying 3 wrestlers to to the second level tournament on their way path to states. Also Lawndale had its first female wrestler ever, who made it to the prestigious Masters round, 1 step from states. They worked hard and for that we established our club and earned these fantastic shirts. Bright yellow so that they are noticed in a crowd and recognized for being a participant in the hardest sport in the world."
