Expressions of a BraveHeart

"This photo was taken at the a Final Performance of the Expressions of a BraveHeart program. Expressions of a BraveHeart is a non-profit program in Auburn, AL that serves to allow children with special needs ages 11 and up a safe environment to express themselves via music, dance, and art. Largely ignored by their peers at school and by society as a whole, these kids are able to laugh, learn, share, and most importantly, communicate, with others while being in the spotlight every other Monday during the course of the program. Most kids are return attendees, having come since the program's inception, and look forward most to "BraveHeart nights". In the Fall of 2013, the already minimally-budgeted BraveHearts program was not going to be able purchase shirts for the kids, as they always have. Thanks to a sympathetic sponsor's donation, BraveHearts was able to purchase 110 shirts from CustomInk! CustomInk worked with BraveHearts every step of the way, ensuring that the universal shirt design would fit even on Colt, a bright young 21-year old who enjoys life and football even while suffering through a rare, degenerative disease that has stunted his growth since he was a pre-teen. The shirts came in early and were quickly sold to volunteers, friends, family, and local college students. The profit gained by selling these shirts not only allowed the kids to have their very own, free-of-charge t-shirts, but also allowed the Program a reasonable budget to purchase t-shirts yearly for the next couple years.
