Grouse Hill Gallop #6

"The Grouse Hill Gallop is a free, grassroots fun run/walk that takes place every Thanksgiving Day morning. This "about a 5K" features no timing, no registration and homemade bibs crafted out of paper plates. While the emphasis is upon lighthearted fun and togetherness, we also use this opportunity to support local causes. This year, we raised $1,700 on behalf of Michele's Ladies In Pink, a local organization that helps families deal with the financial strains brought forth by breast cancer treatment. Our support for this sixth Gallop paid tribute to Anne Lawler. Anne is the mother of one of the Grouse Hill Gallop's founders. Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer this year and is in the process of fighting the disease. Anne could not attend the Gallop because she was returning from New York City where she was receiving treatment. Her husband Marty, however, did manage to attend and direct traffic for our Gallopers, which is a task he has gladly performed since the first running of the Grouse Hill Gallop." - Ready. Set. Gallop! (Dec 02, 2019)
