"An amazing human being was suddenly taken from us just weeks before an event in Hawaii that a group of us were going to participate in with him. Tom touched so many people in extraordinary ways, and we wanted to honor that at the Lavaman Triathlon so he was still racing with us in spirit. 46 of us decided to be "Team Tom", experiencing roller coaster emotions while wearing our CustomInk shirts that day, covering the beach in a sea of pink--the color chosen due to a drink named after him--Tom's Pink Shirt.
