Las Flores Elementary School Leadership Group

"We are one of the few Elementary Leadership Groups in our District. Las Flores Elementary believes that Leadership begins at a very young age. Our Leadership group is made up of Fourth and Fifth Graders. This year we have 53 members in our group. Las Flores Elementary School in Ridgecrest, CA has students enrolled from TK (Transitional Kindergarten) through Fifth (5th) Grade. We meet every week and have officers who lead the meetings. We select Spirit Days, do fundraising for a yearly community project, put out a newspaper, do food donations to needy families from our school, and put on a yearly Talent Show. All students have to maintain grades, and our group is made up of students that learn in many capacities. We celebrate diversity in all capacities. The group is ran by Miss Marla Hale, Fourth Grade Teacher, and Advisor. She has ran the group for eight years. The students are very motivated and eager to be a part of Leadership. Last year, someone took advantage of our group and took our hard earned money for shirts and did not produce a product. This year, we worked hard to get the money to order from Custom Ink. These are by far the best shirts we have ever ordered. They display our colors, with our Mascot (a lion) and the title of the group.
