Math That Brought People Together

"This photo was taken after the final of our accelerated college math class. On the first day of class, our professor, seated in the front, gave the 15 minutes to exchange phone numbers. He said working and studying together would be vital to our success not only in this class, but also for the future. As the weeks passed, we slowly started to warm up to each other, until class was cancelled one morning. With a sign on the door and an exam the next day, we all decided to have our own review session, together, without our professor. That was just the beginning of what would be the class to change the path of my life. Through the different people I met in the class and the enthusiasm and love we all felt from our professor, I developed a feeling of excitement towards mathematics; enough to make me change my major with a goal to be a professor myself one day. A month before finals week, we all decided to show our gratitude to the prof by surprising him with these shirts. He loves cheesy dad jokes and puns, so the Hippotamuse was the obvious choice. In order to make the shirt, I spoke with a couple people from CustomInk through the chat on the website. The representatives at CustomInk provided the best customer service experience out of any company I've worked with. They helped with the entire process in a friendly and timely fashion, and I wouldn't have had the shirts in time if it wasn't for their assistance. Which would not have boded well for me... Now, during the summer, several of us are still taking math together, and we are all talking through our designated group chat. We plan on having breakfast together next week to catch up, and everyone still wears their "Pickett" shirts with the pi symbol on our backs. Professor Pickett created an environment that enabled us to collaborate and learn together. We now make a diverse and tight-knit group of friends, and we would all like to thank CustomInk for their assistance in showing our gratitude.
