"I wanted to do something different for our wonderful 5th graders. They were leaving elementary school to move on to middle school. Most of them have been here since kindergarten. I decided to create middle school spirit wear for them. This was something they could take with them, make them more comfortable to "fit in" at the new middle school, but still keep some of elementary school with them. (As this exact spirit wear will only be worn by our students.)
We surprised the students with the shirts. Then we put them on the bleachers for a group photo. Their smiles say it all. They were grinning from ear to ear. On the last day of school, each student received a copy of the class photo to remember it by.
The response was overwhelming by the students as well as the parents! I would not have changed a thing.
