"We are National Honor Society (Chapter of Tennenbaum Technology), a group of motivated, honor roll scholars/leaders who are passionate about making a difference in our community! Attached is our Combat Hunger campaign where we went into every advisory classroom to deliver a presentation on world hunger. We launched a friendly competition in advisory classes and our school (an extremely small boutique charter school with a student population of only 350) were able to collect over 750 canned foods that were donated to Midnight Mission, a local organization that keeps their doors open for the hungry community of Los Angeles. They offer paths to self sufficiency to men, women and children ; they offer programs that allow them to recover and maintain productive, healthy lifestyles. We were extremely proud of this accomplishment as we have been trying to promote compassion and kindness on our school site. "
