"The North Shreveport Business Association has a annual crawfish boil each year to benefit the police, fire, and sheriff departments in our region. Funds generated through the fundraiser go toward projects such as Operation Santa Claus, awards and appreciation banquets, the purchase unbudgeted items such as ballistic vests and helmets, and other projects in the community. This years event was held on June 2, 2016 and had over 350 people attending. They consumed over 1200 pounds of crawfish and 10 gallons of gumbo. "
