"My husband Hal (with me in this photo) was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) in 2009. Hal was a marathon runner. Each year, starting with the year he was diagnosed, we have entered a "Hal's Pals" relay team in our local Santa Barbara Marathon, to raise funds for ALS research. and each year we hope will not be his last."
