"In memory of our dad, a grandad, a brother and great friend to so many, we walk/run for Sickle Cell Disease in the annual Sickle Cell Disease Association of America's annual Walk/Run. This is an opportunity for us to honor him for the wonderfully loving, caring and strong man he was to us all, his lifelong battle with the disease and to raise much needed awareness of the seriousness of this disease. Purple was his favorite color so we made sure we created the shirts in this color. We also customized the back of the shirts with "Team Ballard", his initial in a Superman logo and angel wings so everyone knew we were honoring his memory and fight."
