"My father loved the Detroit Tigers. He passed away in 1998, from a long battle with an auto immune disease named Sarcoidosis. Ever since our ‘Bruce’ clan has gathered once a year at Tiger Stadium to remember him.
Ironically, Ernie Harwell was the Tigers’ sports announcer for several years and my dad’s favorite. As a Tigers’ legend, the name Ernie on the shirts served a double meaning. We got lots of high fives and a spot on Fox sports."
