"We are the Teachers of the Year in Berkeley County, and we are in charge of organizing and planning a full day of professional development for the 2000+ teachers in our district. We began planning just a couple of days after the Charleston church shooting in which we lost one of the teachers in our county. This fueled our vision for the conference to be a day of unity and support. Hence, our motto, "The Anchor Holds" and our hand-drawn state symbol on the back that displays every schools name in our county. We put these on sale throughout the district and sold over 1000 shirts! Even our superintendent wanted one. They were so popular, we have had to open up the group order again because so many people were asking to buy one on the day of our Conference. We truly were #BCSDUnited!
