"All the math teachers of the Pierre Indian Learning Center (off reservation boarding school for Native American students in Pierre, SD) purchased Pi Day t-shirts to get our students excited about math and Pi!! Twenty of our top performing 6th-8th grade students were chosen to celebrate this Epic Pi Day on Saturday, March 14, 2015 @ 9:26 am (Pi =3.11415926...) by playing math games, solving for Pi, and eating Pie! After seeing the teacher's shirts our students wanted shirts for themselves. Unfortunately, many of them earn allowance but very few have parents that can afford to put money in their accounts. Several teachers put in extra money for their t-shirts to help with the cost of buying them for the students. Our school is hoping to win this t-shirt contest so the students that participated in Pi Day can get $100 toward their shirts so they too can order shirts for celebrating this Epic Pi day!! "
