Field Hockey Races for the Cure

"We ordered pink t-shirts for our girl's field hockey team practice shirts so that the girls could wear them in the 2006 Houston Race for the Cure as well as having the cutest practice shirts of any team at our school. One player's mother passed away in 2005 from breast cancer---her father paid for our pink shirts as a way to memorialize his wife. Another player has a mother currently fighting breast cancer. Our girls are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at a St. Francis Episcopal Day School in Houston. They walked in the Komen Race for the cure to honor and memorialize our loved ones who have lost their battle to breast cancer and to support our team members who have friends and family currently fighting this disease." - Anice (Dec 03, 2006)
