Marathon Monday 2014

"There is a group of us girls who grew up together, and when our friend Elizabeth was in elementary school, she got sick with hystiocytosis and was in the hospital going through chemotherapy treatments at Mass General. She had someone run the Boston marathon in her name, and then her dad started to run it. Last year, she decided to run it for the first time for a boy at MassGen named Isaac, but got stopped at 25.5 miles due to the bombing at the finish line. When she signed up to run it again this year our group of friends knew we had to be on the sidelines cheering her on, and luckily my University is close to the marathon route. She was able to cross the finish line this year - running under 13 minute miles for 26.2 ! We couldn't be more proud of her, or of the city of Boston." - Team E-Shea (Apr 24, 2014)
