"This photo was taken on Tuesday, December 23rd, at Perry A. Tipler Middle School in Oshkosh, WI.
My name is Johanna Anderson, and I am the Band and Orchestra Director at Tipler. This year I decided to start a pep band made up of 7th and 8th grade band students. It is optional to join, and the students give up their recess time to rehearse two times a week. As a thank you to the students, I ordered pep band t-shirts that I gave to the students free of charge. When they arrived (earlier than expected!), they were a huge hit! The students were so excited.
Every year on the day before winter break, Tipler participates in a student-staff basketball game. 8th grade students are selected to compete against the teachers and the principal, Mr. Jones. The Tipler Pep Band had the opportunity to perform for pre-game. For our debut performance, we played "Louie, Louie," "The Hey Song," and "Na Na Hey Hey."
