Around The Office

Holiday Tablescape

What comes before Part B? CustomInk’s Holiday Part-AY!! (The joke never gets old. No, seriously, it doesn’t.)

Every year, CustomInk hosts a shindig for the team around the holidays. It’s one of the only times we get to see our fellow Inkers dressed up. (Seriously, some of us are barely recognizable.) It’s super fun. There’s free food, beer and wine. And, most importantly, it marks an occasion when people might get to see our president Marc Katz dancing and singing along to Bon Jovi. Read more –>

Happy New Year

The beginning of a new year marks a time to reflect on the successes of the previous year and resolve to make even more of an impact in the year ahead. And of course, to lose some weight – let’s be honest.

But seriously, we at CustomInk wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for letting us be a part of your special occasions! What’s meaningful to you is meaningful to us and we’re honored that you instill your trust in us to be your custom t-shirt provider. We love hearing your stories and seeing your creativity expressed in custom products.

Can’t wait to see what 2011 brings! Happy New Year, Inkers!

Capital Area Foodbank Logo

CustomInk provides a lot of food for our team during the workweek: breakfast on Mondays, lunch on Fridays and snacks in-between. Kim H. of our Production Art team wanted to give a new meaning to our Free Food Friday, so she suggested giving up Friday lunch at CustomInk during the month of December and instead sending the money not spent on food to a good cause.

Because of her generous suggestion, CustomInk implemented an annual “Food for Thought” program during the month of December in which all Inkers have the choice to opt out of any of our weekly meals (Friday lunch and/or Monday breakfast). It’s left up to each Inker how much, if any, they want to participate in the program. They can choose not to participate, to opt out of some or all meals, and/or to give a monetary donation. CustomInk orders only enough food for those eating each meal and the rest of the money – that would have been spent on meals – goes to the Capital Area Food Bank. We’ve raised almost $8,000 since our first “Food for Thought” December in 2008!

Thanks to Kim, a thoughtful Inker, the CustomInk team can choose not to be fed each week in December so that more people in need can be fed each winter! Stay tuned for this year’s donation tally…

Custom Sweaters
Ever get an oddly-colored, super-snazzy (ahem, ugly) sweater as a gift from a distant relative? Perhaps something that puts the “err” in “merry”?

We asked each Inker to “flaunt what your grandma made ya!” And yesterday, as you can see in the photos below, they donned their jingle bells, appliqués, sequins and detachable collars, wearing their tackiest sweaters, sweatshirts, and sweater vests for our inaugural Ugly Sweater Day at CustomInk!

After an Inker-wide vote, the “ugliest” sweater won… drum roll please…  John H. (pictured above) wearing what we call his “Abducted Sheep” sweater! Good luck topping that one. Read more –>

The CustomInk Giving Tree

November brings falling leaves, lots of food and, of course, Black Friday – the first day of the holiday shopping frenzy! Maybe you’re already in the giving spirit or maybe the bug hasn’t bitten you yet. Or maybe you break out into a cold sweat just thinking about having to buy gifts that your pre-teen nephews might not consider “cool” and, in fact, might call “lame” – gasp!… or maybe that’s just me.
