“Saturday was a great day for the BYST Program. The program ran their 2nd annual basketball camp at Monsignor Scanlan Highschool in the Bronx, N.Y. Nearly doubling enrollment from last years event, the kids received free instruction on fundamental basketball drills from the men and women basketball teams at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Like last year the day was filled with basketball drills and stations, along with our annual discussion of our motto ‘Be You Stay True’. Where the coaches shared personal stories of their basketball upbringing and how they were challenged with being themselves as young kids. Following were competitions, games, and an award ceremony for the children who received certificates, shirts, and other prizes. It was an even greater fulfilling experience for everyone involved as the amount of participants increased so did the volunteers and supporters.”
“We are the Grizzlies 5th and 6th grade basketball team from Yucaipa, California. This was taken before our first game of the season. When we first got to the game location, the boys were a little nervous, but soon the other teams noticed how great we looked in matching sweatshirts. We heard others saying ‘wow’ and ‘they look tough!’ Then something magical happened, the boys grew more confident and began chanting ‘Grizzlies.’ Even one player from our team said ‘I really feel like a team because we have matching sweatshirts on!’ None of the other teams had sweatshirts. Before I knew it the other coaches were complementing the sweatshirts and asking where we got them. Oh by the way, we won our first game!”
Basketball Team Names FAQ
How do we pick a basketball team name?
Funny basketball names are usually puns on basketball terms, like Nothing but Net, Alley-Oops, or Court Jesters. Pick one the whole team will be happy to wear on the court.
Can we add player names and numbers?
Yes. A common layout is the team name on the front and each player’s name and number on the back.
When should we order team jerseys?
Order a few weeks before the season starts. That leaves time to approve the design, collect sizes, and have the jerseys arrive for the first game.
Can I get help with the design?
Yes. Start in the Design Lab, and Custom Ink’s Inkers can help with fonts, colors, and placement.
