Fundraising glossary

These are common terms you will come across in the fundraiser setup and beyond. Knowing what they are and your options ahead of time will help streamline your setup experience!

  • Beneficiary: answers the question "Who is this fundraiser for?" Below are the options you will see in the setup, including how funds are disbursed at the end of the fundraising campaign:

    • Charity is only if you're working with a federally-recognized 501c3. You can choose to send them a check or donate straight to their website
    • "Me" is only if this is going straight to the organizer's Paypal
    • "Other" will work for any other situation. We can either send the funds via check or donate to a team webpage such as Gofundme
  • Dashboard: One-stop shop for Organizers where they can see current and past campaigns, saved designs, and campaign stats all in one place. Organizers can do the following on their Campaign Dashboard:

    • See their timeline, items sold, and funds raised
    • Extend a live fundraiser close date by up to 3 days
    • Create a new campaign with a recently saved design
    • Create a Collection
  • Disbursement: answers the question "How would you like the funds delivered?" This differs by Beneficiary:

    • Charity/501c3: Check or donation on their site
    • Me (organizer): Paypal account only
    • Other: Check or donation to a team webpage such as Gofundme
  • Fundraising URL: A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the address of a unique resource on the internet. For example, Custom Ink's homepage URL is www.customink.com. You will have to create a unique URL for your fundraiser. The system will create one for you based on the initial fundraiser name you input. Important notes on your fundraiser's URL:

    • The system will only accept letters, numbers, and dashes (-). No Spaces or special characters
    • You will need a green checkmark in the URL box in the fundraiser setup page to continue.
  • Goal: The number of items you expect to sell through the fundraiser.

  • Organizer: the person organizing the fundraiser, setting it up, and the primary point of contact.

  • Print Minimum: The minimum number of items that must be sold to cover the production cost of the order. What does this mean? You are not raising funds until that print minimum is reached. Think of these first sales as a great way to raise awareness for your cause. After the print minimum is met, the more items sold, the higher the per piece profit margin (and your funds raised!).

  • Sales Price: The selling point for the items in your fundraiser.

  • Supporter: someone supporting a fundraiser by either purchasing a product via the fundraiser page and/or making a monetary donation if allowed.
